Through the website, Zeste simultaneously explores the spatiality of the web and that of a fictitious window (architectural window and opening to an imaginary). He also tries to express the notion of disappearance through the image of the ghost, and more graphically and formally, by the use of gradients but also by letting the visitor make the images disappear to navigate the website. The device that gives access to the website consists of a pile of paper placed on the ground. On the front of the sheets is printed a design representing both a window and a ghost. Here again, the gradients have an important place. In addition to the background of the image which is a gradient from black to white, each printed sheet is – in fact – unique because the frame surrounding the drawings is of a different shade of grey each time, letting appear another gradient on the slices of the stack of leaves. In verse is printed the URL to the website (fantome.page). Thus, each one can take a sheet of the stack, then making it slowly disappear (there are 500 sheets), and access the website in a second step. The physical part of the project plays both a very material and sculptural role, taking place in a physical space, but also takes the role of a window to another spatiality. Both the website and the printed part were made in HTML / CSS / JS..

This is Zeste Le Reste, who is currently focusing on researching the place of writing in the use of standardised tools and spaces as a means of emancipation from a normative context. By questioning the connections and interactions between web pages and printed pages, he pursues a practice of the multiple developing in space, accompanied by the creation of websites. Zeste also researches ligatures used in non-binary endings in typography (in French). By approaching the subject voluntarily in an emotional and personal way, he questions the relationships between design and queer theory.
